To everyone in Academia, If @KitchenLab5 creates a platform where you get a chance to mentor one student remotely and guide them to do and understand science even with least resources around them. Will you do it? If yes how much time you can spare every month? #phdchat #phdlife

I had the incredible opportunity to talk at TEDx Tel Aviv University. Small actions can lead to big changes, by sharing our privileges, we can make SCIENCE FOR EVERYONE. I hope you enjoy watching it. https://t.co/Y2XzYMlJar via @YouTube @TEDTalks @TEDx @TelAvivUni #Science

Coming back home and to my ex university is a reality check of how most of the problems in my PhD are privileged issues. I am very lucky that I am getting to do a PhD. This is the classroom where I sat during my bachelor's and master's. #InclusionMatters @TelAvivUni #phdlife

Today sees the publication @BasicBooks of an argument for the central role #cells play in organism building: From the first eukaryotic cell, through the emergence of #animals, the Burgess Shale and #gastrulation to the construction of a human #embryo #CellsRUs #NotInTheGenes.

Happy 121st Birthday to Barbara McClintock...a beloved member of the CSHL family, one of the most influential geneticists of the 20th century, and winner of the 1983 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (the first woman to win that prize unshared!) https://t.co/54DcSeEaPa

Barbara McClintock missed an important call on the morning of October 10, 1983. She had chosen “to be free” of the interruptions that came with owning a telephone, and so it was her students and...

🎂 It has been 10 years! Today we celebrate the birthday of the #gastruloid by looking back at what has been done so far with the model, the important discoveries it has allowed and the possibilities it brings for tomorrow's research in developmental biology. Check this thread:

Thread 1. #Gastruloids are one of a collection of #Stembryo models that have emerged over the last few years & are transforming the way we do mammalian #DevBio through a combination of genetics, experimental embryology and cell biology https://t.co/wSBDJnpYcM

Thread 2 #gastruloids have still much to prove as an experimental system but over the last year a number of mss have highlighted their potential as a new model for #DevBio, specifically mammalian DevBio . I highlight a few here.

Summing up the week. It was my first Biothon. I am exploring Science Business. It was an 🤯 experience. I had the best team, we all met each other in Biothon and we were one of the finalists ❤️ It was a great experience. @NucleateHQ @AcademicChatter

Happened last week Talked about "Science outside the walls of Privileges" The joy of talking in the home institution is different. From talking in Ranchi(Ranchi College) and then Hyderabad (@ccmb_csir ) to Tel Aviv (@TelAvivUni ) we have come a long way. @KitchenLab5 🦩

A single cell state (gene expression, chromatin landscape) is not “the phenotype” of a cell. It’s only a small, small part of the phenotype (incl. disease). We need to move from cell state to cell function (and not just functional prediction).

Why are in-vitro embryo-like models so variable, while the embryo develops so robustly? We try to tackle this in a new preprint, using the gastruloid model and morphogenetic progression of definitive endoderm (DE). https://t.co/Agh5VfY2xM
