If anything can be technically done, then it will be done, no matter the social pressure "don't do this". The only way to prevent something from happening in an adversarial/super-free-market such as crypto is to make it technically unfeasible.

You don't ask nicely everyone else not to spend your coins, you just protect them using a cryptographic key. Similarly, you don't ask nicely everyone else not to distinguish your monetary units, you just make them *technically* undinstinguishable, aka: fungible.

You can replace "facebook" in the tweet below with any mean of payment including bitcoin and most crypto, same would apply. People under opressive regimes should be advised to use #Monero if they can, nothing weaker. That's the threat model we must design for, nothing less.
