Sonny Liston begs to differ. Before Tyson, there was Sonny Liston. Tyson actually modeled his "bad boy" persona on Liston.
In the 1980s, every boxer knew that facing Mike Tyson meant certain doom. He fought with a ferocity and violence Americans had never seen before. This is one of the videos from that era.

Foreman was a "pushing" puncher. His punches had a longer dwell time (the glove stayed in contact with the target longer). This is what causes "displacement." Tyson knocks your head back; Foreman moves your entire body three feet to the left.
