"Aldermen: Halt all work on the DuSable Lake Shore Drive project". Yea, you read that right. We want mass transit on our lakefront and will fight for it. 14 Alderpeople and various community orgs have signed onto our letter. Read it here: https://t.co/PWNyojZtbL

We oppose all versions of the Redefine the Drive project that fail to incorporate mass transit such as buses or light rail.

We all know traffic safety is bad on Pulaski (and Cicero, and Archer, and other major streets). But how bad is it? Thread 👇

I was proud to speak at last night's rally because here's the truth about my neighborhood: Lincoln Parkers drive fewer miles per year than the average Chicagoan. We have an average WalkScore of 94. 32% of LPers live car-free; that's more than the LPers who drive to work.
Some 150 bike rider and 1,000 petitioners protested the City's plans to give Dickens plaza back to motorists. Advocates say doing so would set a terrible precent for reversing hard-fought Safe Streets projects. https://t.co/9A7oZ6aFo0

Our city leaders should NEVER compromise on the safety for our most vulnerable road users. Improving the design of the greenway and diverter should absolutely be considered. Removing it and making Dickens more dangerous is not the answer.
Bicyclists and transit advocates blasted the city's decision to remove a Lincoln Park bike lane. https://t.co/voNudX1lut

Over 100 people who bike showed up on a moment’s notice to demand that we not reverse the miniscule safety gains we’ve made for people who walk and bike. @AldKnudsen43 Please listen to these real people and not the fake bikers that would prefer riding next to cars.
The 43rd Ward confirmed the City is planning to eliminate the traffic diverters and plaza at the east end of Dickens Greenway. No public meetings were held on this decision. A protest ride is planned tonight 6:15 PM at Jonquil Park 1001 W. Wrightwood. https://t.co/2De9gD7hU4

We need a citywide Bike Grid so that decisions on safe streets infrastructure can't be swayed by small groups of neighbors. Lincoln Parkers and all Chicagoans deserve more - not less - people-centric infrastructure.

9 months after building Dickens Landing, the city now plans on ripping out the first traffic diverter in Lincoln Park. It’s time to jam! ⏰ 6:15pm Monday Sept 16 📍 Jonquil Park Tell the city that low-stress greenways mean low-traffic greenways! ✍️ https://t.co/sIxstc3bdq
