Very proud to share this @SPJ_NorCal award for breaking news photography during the Pajaro River floods, last winter. Grateful to @bethlaberge, the KQED team – and José, Leo and everyone who talked with me. With additional reporting by @MGreenKQED. 🔗: https://t.co/WDDI2JLfuh

Journalism tweet: As a reporter, mostly writer, I’d like to say a thing about photojournalists. We gotta treat them like the equals they are in the creative process. They should be in the planning meetings early and often. The best work is made together, not as an afterthought.

Today, taxi drivers — many of whom are immigrants and people of color — are still awaiting relief to pay off loans for their taxi medallions that the city sold to 100s of drivers starting in 2010. At the same time, another threat to SF’s cab business looms: robotaxis. @KQEDnews
