Interesting take on 23andMe:. – Value of genomic data has declined: Amgen paid ~$3k/user (deCODE), Regeneron ~$17/user.– Pivot to Rx / R&D didn’t sink them—customer acquisition costs did. Ultimately, authors argue: genomes w/o phenotyping isn't valuable (Regeneron may disagree!).

intriguing & slightly surprising to me - whenever I've looked for scRNA-seq support for a target, 9/10 it's not expressed sufficiently in any cell type of interest to draw conclusions (:.
Candidate drug targets with #scRNAseq support defined as. 👉cell type specific expression in disease-relevant tissue .OR .👉cell type specific over-expression in disease patients . are more likely to successfully advance from research to clinic.

Human genetics FTW again, although you'd be surprised how much convincing it still can take these days :).
Today we should celebrate the perseverance of $VRTX in translating the incredible human genetics of Nav 1.8 for pain into a drug with Phaase 3 data ready for approval. The commercial market can debate the differentiation and merits vs existing generics, but it should be a huge.
