It drives me nuts when coaches, players, and fans (and even athletic directors) blame the referees for “stealing” or “blowing” a close game because of a “bad” call. Often it wasn't even a bad call. Looking at you @MarkHarlan_AD 😉

Really proud of Bernardo for being awarded the predoctoral award, and really grateful for the support from @PhRMAfoundation! Bernardo has been such a delight to work with and is well deserving of this award.
The PhRMA Foundation awarded 34 early-career researchers a total of $2.5 million in 2025 fellowships and grants focused on drug discovery, drug delivery, and translational medicine research. View the list of awardees: https://t.co/OZ9wacKRyf

Incredibly grateful to be a recipient of the @PhRMAfoundation career starter grant in translational medicine!
Antibiotic-resistant infections are an urgent public health threat. #PhF24 awardee @Ashlan_Kunz @UK_COP aims to develop better therapies for bacterium Stenotrophomonas maltophilia by studying how it reacts to antibiotic regimens. Watch the full interview: https://t.co/ixa2iKQJUH

This is incredible news for patients with certain muscular dystrophies. I've felt for years that these are diseases we have the technology to treat. "All they need" is a good copy of a single gene delivered to affected muscles. This is huge. https://t.co/upGdncok8I

Great work by Shade et al (FardoLab #UKSBCoA). Using neuropath (not clinical diagnosis), we discern which genetic risk factors drive specific neuropathologies. Also identified 4 new loci involved in disease (COL4A1,PIK3R5,LZTS1,APOC2) #Alzheimers #Dementia

Since we’re ~4 weeks after, a lot of cleanup has already happened, but a lot of people still have an overwhelming amount of cleanup to do.

Today we spent all day at one residence with a couple in their 50s/60s. They live next to a creek that looks completely benign and blissful. They said flooding was 4ft above the bank of 400 yards. So. Much water. #Ashville #HurricaneHelena #HelpingHands

Arrived in #Ashville to help with #HurricaneHelena cleanup. Working on a “tree crew” to clear downed trees for folks that need help. I’ve documented some of my previous experiences helping with hurricane and flood cleanup. Will share a bit for anyone interested #HelpingHands
