Trey Burke held an 11-year record for “cleanest chase down block that was called a foul” in an NCAA Tournament game.
However, that ended last night. This is somehow an even worse call than that, and it came with under a minute left in a one-point game.
You can’t call a Notre Dame team who played toe-to-toe with Georgia on the road overrated. Michigan thoroughly dominated a top 10 team and that is going to be a tough pill for the Harbaugh haters to swallow.
Luckily for Michigan, a former assistant coach getting hired by the team prepping against you is of no competitive advantage for the Tide.
If Alabama has blurry IPhone footage of the team’s signals from 23 rows up at the Big House, however, that would be concerning.
SOURCES: Former Michigan LB coach George Helow has been hired by Alabama to the Crimson Tide staff. Helow spent the 2021-2022 seasons on the UM staff. Bama faces Michigan in the Rose Bowl, Jan. 1.
Here is a thread of some Mike Valenti quotes when Michigan basketball first hired Juwan Howard:
“This absolutely to me is a dud of a hire.”
“You’re not gonna come into the big ten and win basketball games like this.”
There’s no way any honest person could be up in arms about UM having other teams’ signals, and in the same breath overlook an allegation that Big 10 coaches were colluding to steal UM’s signals and pretend that’s not a big deal.
That’s called having an agenda/double standard.
Juwan Howard and Michigan did a ton wrong in this incident.
But, Wisconsin: You had one assistant coach make contact with Michigan players, another literally tackle a player, and a third coach/staffer performing the “suck it” gesture.
You are far from heroes in the matter.
Since Shea Patterson arrived at Michigan, he has a 62.3 completion percentage with 25 TDs and 7 interceptions. That won’t get you benched on any team, so not sure why I keep seeing people calling for that.
Also, these quotes don’t begin to do justice to the arrogant tone Valenti has when talking about the matter.
Have an opinion, that’s cool, but don’t act like you are Messiah when giving an opinion. Otherwise, you get exposed.

Michigan is still playing a game on Dec. 29 but canceling on the 30th because of being short five players due to World Junior Championships in Canada.
Are we going to begin to cancel sporting events each time the circumstances aren’t perfect for one team? Bizarre decision.
MDHHS released the data, which said that 99.6% of high school athletes using the pilot testing program were negative for COVID.
The most appalling thing is that they are going against the very own data they provided.
Data that supports shutting down sports doesn’t exist.
Huge Opinion: To shut down any sport at the youth, HS, or college level in Michigan I believe the medical science/data should be released as to why specific sports can’t be played. Enough of these one page memos/orders that provide no facts to back up decisions out of Lansing.

Michigan reported nearly 40,000 new COVID cases just last week.
“Youth sports outbreaks” have accounted for just over 1,000 cases...in a 4-month span (and it’s assumed most of the outbreaks are occurring away from the sport itself).

8-5 season for Western Michigan football with a bowl win…surely some positives to take.
Fact of the matter still remains that this could have been a 10-3 or better team.
Don’t think it’s wrong for fans to expect a little more, and think the staff/players expect more as well.
I still can’t believe I can watch an Austin Peay vs. Central Arkansas football game tomorrow, yet Purdue and Michigan, two of the more advanced universities in the U.S., can’t play at the Big House on Sept. 5.
None of this makes any sense whatsoever.
Wanted to take a minute to reach out and thank everyone who has latched onto my coverage of WMU football/basketball so far this season. The Herald opened up a tremendous opportunity for me and it has been a blast. Thank you to everyone who interacts on here.
Halftime thoughts:
Michigan is in a good spot overall. Got caught in a bad matchup on defense that led to a big play on OSU touchdown drive.
Other than that, defense has made Buckeyes earn everything on offense.
Pass protection will have to hold in second half for Wolverines.

Beauregard said she is matching that number in her own salary as well.
WMU football coach Tim Lester walked up to me after practice saying how sorry he was for my loss, as my grandpa passed away yesterday. That meant a lot.
Couple things on that last INT—
•McCord made the right read. If the OL didn’t get blown up & McCord get hit as he throws, good chance this is 6 to Marv.
•Moore didn’t make the catch. Another replay that didn’t go in OSU’s favor, sadly.
Once again, we had 140+ other plays so…
