Today is #LongCovidAwarenessDay Long Covid changed my life beyond recognition. I got ill. I never recovered. Lost my job. Became housebound. I rely on others to do things for me. I lie on my bed most of the day. Watch the Guardian's short film about my life with #LongCovid 👇

Long COVID hasn’t disappeared. People continue to develop it after new infections—yet the myth that it’s “over” still persists. Bára’s story shows the reality: after her 3rd COVID‑19 infection in 2025, she became house‑bound with severe fatigue and heart issues.

Yes please let’s get this trending to highlight the utter absurdity of the claim 🙄- especially given current Covid rates and the fact we know Covid doubles the risk of heart attack and stroke and has been shown to damage cognitive function and cause immune dysregulation

I love allotments, historically a little slice of land for the urban working classes to retain a link to nature, maintain a satisfying hobby & grow wholesome food. My granddad, after he ceased to be an agricultural worker & started working for the gas board, loved his. Save them!

The jaw dropping early C16th angel roof at St. Wendreda's in March, Cambridgeshire - Sir John Betjeman said it was "worth cycling forty miles into a headwind to see." It's hard to believe that this beautiful example of medieval craftsmanship is under threat #thread

Depressing news that Govt may approve bee-killing pesticide despite election promise to ban it - & outrageous that British Sugar has applied to use neonics for 5th year, despite industry commitment to end reliance in 2023. Govt must act to protect bees 🐝

Amazing to have the chance to talk to Colm Toibin about his new novel, the sequel to Brooklyn. I was trying hard in this piece not to give any games away..
