Prime has all the Bond movies cause Jeff wants to prove his wife is hot. So I am watching them and I've learned a couple tricks. But mostly I've learned these movies are sleazy cartoons for illiterate British letches.

The real confidence is doing this all with blocking, lighting and mise en scene, in basically three shots rather than building it in editing. Modern films just don't commit to the performances and cut the hell out of them without committing to the scene.

A great example of the 2D graphic nature of film language. The petitioner is on the right side, Brando is on the left. When the power in the conversation reverses and Brando "wins" the scene, he crosses the axis of interest and flips screen direction. Text book stuff.
