Genevieve & Pere verified ligand oxidation observed in Pr/Tb(III) EChem with DFT - showing the formation of a ligand centred radical upon oxidation! Whilst the system has some limitations - it's a great start for the @GoodwinRadChem in its journey towards tetravalent lanthanides!

@Johnseedo collected some gorgeous magnetic data - as always! In fact the Tb(III) data suggested a well-isolated paramagnetic pseudo-doublet spin-orbit ground state which has led to some spin-off work so stay tuned!

Using a bidentate di(silylamido)silane ligand to isolate trivalent Ce/Pr/Tb complexes and tetravalent Ce/U. One of my first times with EChem - a skill I have really enjoyed developing! Gorgeous Ce(IV/III) redox couple and EChem of U(IV) we found couples from U(III) to U(VI)

We know you have all been curious about organometallic complexes after uranium, so we wrote a handy review discussing the challenges and advancements published in @NatRevChem! This was a massive undertaking along with Ross + Cameron + @ConradGoodwin. https://t.co/mc3FxTPh5p

Check out @Elias_Alexo first publication in the Ortu group! Amazing results on some cool RE complexes! Also thanks to @FabOrtu - really fun working with you & debuting my first (co-)corresponding paper (definitely a step up from my MChem days! #runningman) 👨🏻🔬
Huge congratulations to @Elias_Alexo for his first publication in the group - out now in @Molecules_MDPI! Also thanks to @alex_bowles_33 and @YuLiu1991. Super happy working alongside @ben_reant, and witness his debute as a corresponding author!

U(II) complexes that have 5f36d1 electron configurations are typically expected to reach a diamagnetic ground state at low temp. Surprisingly, these compounds display axial EPR spectra unlike their 5f4 counterparts. See our preprint online:
