Still in shock, but very excited! I have such supportive mentors (Drs. Vanessa LoBue, Mauricio Delgado, BJ Casey & many more!) and a wonderful department that I can't thank enough. We all worked so hard on these applications and I hope everyone is proud regardless of the outcome.

Yes this absolutely this. If our goal is to advance human knowledge, then others' success in discovering things we care about is a big 'ole WIN for all of us.
Academia is competitive & sometimes the ppl we compete w/ the most are doing similar research. Instead of ignoring or minimizing the contributions of those closest in our field, I encourage us to uplift & amplify. There is enough room for us all to contribute in meaningful ways
