Having managed 8 years I agree, never about the money. If I’d had fewer contact hours, that would have helped and I’d have been a better teacher.

I’m missing you on the radio too but I was worried it might be the other thing and you might be really struggling so now I feel happy. Is that bad? Get well soon!

They removed a lot of old fashioned drink taps from schools because they wasted a lot of water during the early and mid 2000s and that’s when kids were required to carry drink bottles.
@JennaPrice
This thread is making me feel inadequate. I’ve been described as ‘nice’ and even ‘too nice’. This was in feedback surveys from secondary kids at a not great school. They had formed the impression that teachers should be shouty.

When I was teaching the head of department got one hour per fortnight. I imagine in COVID times being across all the content would be impossible.

The power of advertising. When my kid was about 3 he totally freaked out wondering how I could possibly paint the house when we don’t have a big shaggy dog.
@tarang_chawla
Yep. Two weeks at least. Ok for me because I have a job where I can WFH effectively. Bad for husband because he is a musician. Good for kiddos because they are nerds (self identifying).

Arbornaut was pretty awesome. Especially if you like trees. Also Mr Wigg. Or anything by Inga Simpson. I accidentally read The Willowman because I assumed it was about trees. It was about cricket but still brilliant.

My immunocompromised kid is double vaccinated at 14 but I suspect won’t mount a response because after chicken pox vaccinations only produced T cell antibodies not B cell. Hello term 4!
@unfilteredMel83
Yes! It was awesome and scary and I did it during my annual review when they asked if I wished to add anything… well yes, since you asked…

Agree, the thoughts of Su’s son are valid. He might have wanted a harsher response but checking in will help build his sense of responsibility.

When I was teaching there was an expectation that you would post lesson plans for the CRT on the morning of your sick day. If you planned ahead, others would gossip that you were faking it. Not teaching anymore and feeling conflicted.
