The rollout of thrombectomy is always good news! But we don't have enough thrombectomy hours in Scotland, with nowhere in the country offering it on a 24/7 basis. We need 24/7 thrombectomy services in Scotland, now!

Yesterday's Scottish Government budget delivered a devastating blow to stroke and thrombectomy funding, resulting in a real-terms cut. The absence of universal thrombectomy services across Scotland is already costing lives, and this budget does nothing to fix this critical issue

Detect more strokes. Save more lives. FAST could miss 1 in 5 strokesโ€”thatโ€™s over 2,000 strokes a year in Scotland. By adding Balance & Eyes to FAST, we can detect more strokes and save lives. #BEFAST #StrokeAwareness #Scotland https://t.co/fPaLfI1HTM

Emergency stroke treatment isnโ€™t available 24/7 anywhere in Scotland, which is also costing lives. The current system is not good enough, and urgent action is needed. The government must '#BEFAST' to make improvements and save lives.

Stroke care in Scotland is failing. The FAST test used to spot strokes misses up to 20% of cases, including half of a type called Posterior Circulation Strokes, leading to lives being lost.

Momentum is growing for the @befast_stroke campaign! The Government must now update FAST to #BEFAST. Itโ€™s inconsistent for the Government to tell people to seek medical help for symptoms they donโ€™t promote! https://t.co/ZZSeBPb98P

Great progress for our campaign! But itโ€™s time for the Scottish Government to end the inconsistency. If you should seek medical help because youโ€™re suffering from a #BEFAST symptom, then why only promote FAST? Itโ€™s time to update FAST to #BEFAST https://t.co/c1oqnuegoq

To paraphrase George Orwell, 'All stroke patients are equal, but some stroke patients are more equal than others.' Why should you be denied life-saving treatment because your stroke does not present itself with FAST symptoms?
