Watched Forrest Gump for the first time in like 20 years, it’s as corny and sentimental as I remember but when he meets his son and asks “is he smart or…?” man I lost it. Powerful moment, pure cinema!

last few weeks I've loaded the schedule at the start of the week and really pushed to get everything done by Thursday so I can take it easy on Friday. Just hanging out, drinking coffee, watching movies on my laptop. Being a small business owner has its perks.

I was trying to think if this was true or not, but I can confirm that the only pictures of my oldest friend and I (known for 35ish years, were roommates for several years after college) are wedding party photos taken at our weddings.

I believe therapy helps more people than it hurts, however everyone I know who see therapists do so with a mindset of "I need and want help" and not "I need validation for my poor choices." I do think therapists could do a better job of recognizing and cutting off the latter.
We need to admit that most therapists are probably manipulators, and therapy only helps a small percentage of people.

In college I dove way deep into the jam band scene of the late 90s/early 00s, I had a lot of fun traveling, enjoying some great music and meeting some genuinely nice people but quickly figured out the vast majority of the lot crowd were just there to do drugs and run scams.
this kind of music (and person) got ruined for me when I traveled around the world and realized all hippies are basically degenerate backstabber grifters and the peace and love aesthetic hides a really gritty underbelly.

Same spirit as the New York folk scene of the 60s or the UK post punk reggae/funk bands. Vapid, over educated kids with nothing to offer stealing the “authenticity” of the working class.
what happened in 2010-15 man. we were seized by some kind of faux frontiersman cult for urbanites. probably the worst cultural era in history: . - stomp clap hey music. lumineers, mumford & sons, imagine dragons etc. awful. no redeeming qualities whatsoever .- stipped down.
