Kudos to #Indian journalists - especially female journos for grilling the Taliban foreign minister on #AfghanWomen rights and girls education. Muttaqi’s answers were misleading to say the least! @suhasinih @Smita_Sharma @Nidhi @SharmaKadambini
Also kudos to male colleagues who joined the protest against discrimination, requested us today to sit in front row of press conference- although we compete for stories, no conflict over need for #MediaSolidarity and #Zerodiscrimination

It’s been 4 years since the Taliban banned #AfghanGirls from schools. Taliban FM Amir Khan Muttaqi tells @Smita_Sharma that the schools will stay closed until Amri Sani (2nd order from Taliban leader). Muttaqi gave a general/misleading answer abt #DanishSiddiqui’s brutal killing.
I asked #Muttaqi as to why are Afghan young girls and women barred from schools and education institutes when other islamic nations and ideologies including Iran, Syria, Saudi or Deoband educate their girls. And also if he regrets the brutal killing of journalist #DanishSiddiqui

Emphasizing on civilian supremacy, @AimalWali questioned why #Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir appeared to be leading talks with President Trump and presenting him mineral samples. Instead of answering, Shahbaz Sharif’s govt took away his security.
The federal government/ Interior Ministry has taken back all the security personnel allotted to me and my father and family. Two things 1. If anything happens to me or my family the responsibility will be yours 2. I’ll keep on speaking for the public and am ready for anything

Update: The Taliban government in #Afghanistan has restored internet access. Interestingly, internet was also down in some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and #Balochistan. It raises questions!
#Afghanistan is sliding back to the days when people had to cross into neighboring countries just to make a phone call. That was life under the Taliban’s first rule. It’s happening again, and this time because the Taliban want to censor Afghans and cut them off from the world.

Pakistan army & state have provided mercenaries to the Arab monarchies for over 50 years. Remember Brig Zia-ul-Haq massacring the Palestinians in Jordan in Sep 1970? The Saudi-Pakistan defense pact will change nothing for a common Pakistani. Army will make money hands over fist
