Logging back into Twitter briefly to say: - The "red wave" largely failed - Lauren Boebert may have lost - Bitcoin is crashing What a day. Fuck you, Elon. https://t.co/ihr1my2uAk
To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic.

Interrupting my otherwise permanent Twitter hiatus to say: Elon Musk's first acts as Twitter's dictator were to spread conspiracy theories and normalize political violence. If these things bother you, WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?! GET THE FUCK OFF https://t.co/2wyBow5zWm

Billionaire peddled the conspiracy theory on Twitter just days after he completed his takeover of the social media platform β before deleting the post hours later

I'm really liking Counter Social not only because it has content moderation, but also integrated bot detection via @BotSentinel, as well as being proactively anti-conspiracy theories.

For Mastodon fans, you can find me here: https://t.co/zUW50vMF5S Although I gotta say I strongly dislike Mastodon and probably won't use it much. Federation seems inherently incompatible with content moderation, and the UX is generally awful. We can do better.

@timheidecker @elonmusk I think it's time we had a conversation with @elonmusk about the problem of ongoing death threats being circulated on the Twitter platform. We could call it Death Threat ConversatiOn with Elon, or #DeaThConOnElon

Musk is in charge of Twitter. Kanye the anti-semite is back. Trump will be back Monday. Alex Jones may also be coming back. Fuck this place.

So basically killing actual free speech on this platform. Time to leave, I guess?
Twitter's head of legal, policy, and trust was reportedly among those fired tonight. This piece from @cwarzel explains precisely why cuts to legal + Trust and Safety in particular could be disastrous.

Zuckerbergβs metaverse is best understood not as a coherent technological project, but as a vague and self-destructive longing for a new shiny internet that is somehow different from one he, personally, broke. Weβre watching a man without imagination desperately try to buy some.

P2X has low efficiency but a property that more than makes up for it: it can be easily stockpiled. Electrolyzer sites, which need a heavy-duty grid connection and already have the tank storage, can run the process in reverse with CCGTs or fuel cells, returning energy to the grid

Clean energy transition pathways: solar and wind are our best bets, supplemented by replacing natural gas with P2X (power-to-X e.g. power-to-hydrogen + CCGT) https://t.co/gFpolPHiMW

Remember when that billionaire that everyone hates bought that social media platform everyone loves and then proceeded to run it into the ground? https://t.co/qj4CPPzhEP

The acquisition's price is sure to ignite debate about valuations and durability of new media companies because MySpace is only two years old.
