Recession looms. What should you do? Lots of generic advice past month. Ran an analysis on 23.2k subscription and SaaS companies, and here’s what I found. Things will mostly be fine, but two data points are pretty scary (especially in consumer and soon B2B). Let's ride 👇

Miami has dominated headlines as being the new 'hot' spot for tech, but great to see NYT also showcasing our AI and tech talent in Toronto. It's been the fastest growing location for @introhive in the last 2 years, and we're excited about its ongoing expansion! 😎
“many executives, investors and entrepreneurs are promoting warm climes like Austin and Miami as the next big tech hubs. But they are tiny tech communities compared with the new hub growing in the cool air along the shore of Lake Ontario.”

What people think matters in business: "grit, culture, hustle, vision." What actually matters in business: "good accounting, diligence with a CRM, not running out of cash, regular updates, doing the same sh*t for 10+ years, hiring people smarter than you, avoiding catastrophes."

Great selection of books here, along with a paragraph book summary on each.

In spending time coaching and mentoring others I’ve learned one immutable law. You cannot coach the uncoachable. People that want answers or secrets from other peoples experience are living like life is just a multiple choice test. #tweet100

A masterclass in being media ready for any question while controlling the narrative. Adam Neumann is a case study. The calm and focused justification of office boondoggles and the private jet seem almost totally rational 😆 https://t.co/k7HHYg2qI5

The greatest leaders make it look easy not because it is, but because they’re they’ve learned and practiced enough to make it look effortless. #tweet100

Over the years I’ve reported to numerous VP’s & C levels. As I’ve advanced to that level I learned - it’s not as easy as it looks - not everyone is cut out for it - the skills you think you have as an IC are not the ones that serve you as a leader - people skills are paramount

We had a good run and learned a lot. I ended up moving to an awesome opportunity at Square and the category got overheated and saturated. Ebay absorbed Close5 it into their core business and closed the book on it. https://t.co/7uLp4MClOd

This era of mobile in the valley was riddled with bad actors selling fake downloads disguised as mobile advertising. Apple caught onto this and took a massive action against it, as did we, but not before some of this went down. https://t.co/m6aqrWFArY

I was never a huge fan of the creative and ad formula but it was part of our ebay classifieds playbook at that time. The media buying strategy and ad types weren’t my favorite, but as mentioned we were “running a startup inside a big company” 🧐

I got lots of flack and questions from my corporate friends at the fancy ebay offices about whether it was worth it and what the impact was of the local Super Bowl ad. I can tell you we got such a rush of concurrent traffic it crashed our servers 🙃
