"There’s so many people that work for me whom I am incredibly concerned about. Do they have health care coverage?" - David Chang
Um, do you provide it for them ?
@kelkord
At first I was like, he means do they have access in these f'd up times? But no, he says "coverage." How would his employees have it if he doesn't provide it?
A real butt!

Restaurant business. Cut rate, low pay. Imagine not having health coverage in his US restaurants as well? Sad for the people.
@balkissoon
ive always thought the restaurant industry is super exploitative (I worked in a restaurant run by a "famous" chef and every single person made min wage/if not less with tips) like...its a totally busted system. how are people just seeing that now?
@balkissoon
I used to serve at a restaurant that threatened my hrs if I did’t come on as a full time server — I asked if they offered health ins. I kid you not, the guy laughed in my face and said, “Yea right!” I guess in that industry, unless u are a salaried employee u only get tips.
@balkissoon
Massimo closed all restaurants but his keeping all staff on payroll and benefits. Maybe the restaurant industry should be looking to people like him.
@balkissoon
He means now that they don’t work for him anymore because he had to lay them off and he/the company can only stretch their contribution for so long.

Only full time employees get Health care. If you have health care and drop under 30 hours a week you get removed from Health Care. -Ex-employe
