Revisited it the other week. It’s incredible. The last half hour is a study in fear, with a protagonist who’s utterly helpless and just waiting for the axe to fall. Winstone great, Kingsley iconic, but the really chilling performance comes from Ian McShane, channelling Satan.
Rewatched Sexy Beast. My opinion on it has changed. My old opinion was: "It's a very good film and I can see why people like it." My new opinion is: "It's a stone-cold classic and I will fight any Dr. White honking jam-rag arcane spunk bubble who says otherwise."
