Just wanted to show some trace repair work I did.
This was a spare Dreamcast board where a DCDigital flex cable was improperly removed, taking a whole bunch of pads with it.
With magnet wire, the Dreamcast was saved!

So an

installation that I had worked on a few months ago came back with some issues, PS1 getting stuck on the white screen, and not booting the XS consistently. All was fine during my initial testing, but it’s an old console 🤷🏻♂️
Swapping out IC305 fixed all issues! 👍🏻

Very proof of concept wiring here, but it’s really cool to see an SD card work as an internal HDD in the v12 Slim! Limited to 128GB, it seems.
I’ve been trying to get a SATA HDD to work in a similar fashion, but no luck thus far…

Bought a PS2 off eBay, sold as powering on, but having a broken controller port connector.
I plug it in, red LED. Try to power it on, green LED for 0.5 sec, then red LED again. Console shuts itself off.
After checking all fuses, I take a look at the controller port, and…🤦🏻♂️

Neo Geo CD SD Loader all done!
Had to reflash the firmware to get rid of the sound effect static glitching (only happens on *some* loaders?)
Also had to replace the inductors on the CDA board to fix a no video issue - shout out to

Amazing castellated edges on the flex, though the ‘arm’ is just as annoying as always 😅
On a personal note, still bitter about getting burned on the last pre-order, with my money vanishing into thin air…😑
