By its literal sense, to use ilājrat इलाजरत for a person undergoing treatment would be wrong, as the person doing the ilāj is a doctor and not the patient. The patient is ilājādhīn इलाजाधीन (under treatment) [इलाज + अधीन]. 2/2.

Interesting! The word "Knol Khol" in Mumbai for "Kohlrabi" is a Dutch loanword in Indian languages. It is derived from Dutch 🇳🇱 knol = tuber/turnip plus kool = "cabbage". If you like eating Coleslaw at KFC, remember you are actually eating Dutch "Kool Sla" = "cabbage salade".

The white turnip like vegetable above the jāmuns is called knolkhol in Mumbai and monj-haakh in Kashmiri. Its lush greens on the top are discarded in most of India but are considered a delicacy in Kashmiri cuisine. It’s cooked with salt, green chillies and asofoetida.

These European women were mostly averse to any casual relationship with the prospective British officers/soldiers and were strictly against pre-marital liaisons. Young women were instructed by their families to set a very high cap first and eventually go down to lower ranks.2/2.

Fishing fleets. In early 19th century, many of the British military men working in India remained unmarried. Women from Britain and elsewhere in Europe who visited India for matrimonial alliances were called "fishing fleets" as they generally arrived at the port of Calcutta. 1/2

Co-brother.I had to explain someone that a "co-brother" is the husband of one's wife's sister. This is an expression from South Indian English. In plain English, you can just call that person brother-in-law.
