i worked with this teacher about a decade ago at a summer camp in florida. she was a kind and wonderful person who clearly cared about every child— obviously still true today. ashamed of my hometown and my high school for this. florida do fucking better challenge!!.
A Florida teacher was fired from her school after 11 years for using a student’s preferred name without the parents’ permission. The parents reportedly complained about the teacher after they found out she did not use the teenager’s legal name, which resulted in her firing.
