“my willingness to fail is what gives me the ability to succeed”, @vkhosla reiterated in my fireside with him at our ‘Give Indiaspora Philanthropy Summit’. Inspiring to see his clarity of thought, ability to take bets on bold entrepreneurs, futuristic tech, improbable ideas

Either they die on their own with a fall or a cardiac arrest, or they die slowly of malnutrition. We provide them with concentrated mixed feed, in which we provide them with chuni, chana, choker etc along with mineral mixture and all the vitamins that they need are added in them

They would have been broken from inside - they just wither away and die. This is the most painful death in my opinion. Dying out of exhaustion, while working. They are put to work when they are around 1.5yrs old.

Gauri: "He kept beating them with a whip continuously for 10mins with all the force he could muster. When the animals did not stand up even after then, he lit a matchstick and placed it in front of their nose, so that they get up out of fear. They become completely helpless.

Meet superwoman, @gauri_maulekhi , and her NGO @pfaindia who've been working tirelessly in Uttarakhand to save as many of these animals as possible. Over the last decade, they have rescued 20000+ such animals, and provided a loving home for hundreds of abandoned equines.

Every year, thousands of working animals suffer a tragic fate at tourist destinations in the hill stations of north India. Forced to carry heavy loads day & night, many of them lose their lives due to neglect & abuse. As an animal lover & vegan, I find it extremely disturbing
