The SEC has given the green light to T+1 settlement in the US. This is going to compress the timeline for post-trade processing and focus minds on correct real-time data with automated corrections.
Today the Commission adopted rule changes to shorten the standard settlement cycle for most broker-dealer transactions in securities from two business days to one. The change is designed to benefit investors and reduce credit, market, and liquidity risks.
