“Although the wildfire claimed a large percentage of the research facility...the flames couldn’t destroy the partnerships and connections that Scotty Creek has built over the years. “And that’s going to be the foundation on which we build and move forward.” https://t.co/1OJSC4K6vz

The most northern sites we work at are Trail Valley Creek & Havikpak Creek which are at the transition zone from boreal forest to Arctic tundra. Our team flies into the arctic town of Inuvik in Inuvialuit territory to get to the sites. Safe #fieldwork! #PeatTwitter #permafrost

The new eddy covariance tower at @ScottyResearch is up and running! Last October a forest fire destroyed the former EC tower which had run for 10 years at the site. The new tower will help monitor how wildfire impacts GHG flux in this #permafrost #peatland landscape.
