FWIW, I fully supported the DAO incentives in 2024. Not because I thought that there's a high probability of success (positive ROI from supporting fledgling chains), but because in crypto, betting on long-tail outcomes is usually a good strategy.

In 2024 there was an interesting dynamic in the Uniswap ecosystem, with Labs being selective with their FE, while the DAO liberally funded and incentivized new chains. That experiment now is mostly over:.- DAO got skeptical.- Unichain stole the spotlight.
We reached an L2 saturation point:. Aave deployed on 16 chains, but the new deployments are operating at a loss (Soneium, Celo, Linea, zkSync, Scroll). As a result, Aave is unlikely to deploy on Bob BTC L2, even though it passed the temp check vote. Now, a proposal on the Curve

I get that LP positions can be valued in two ways ("raw" and oracle-based), but isn't using a fuzzer overkill here? . At least for an xy=k AMM the LP position's value change formula is pretty simple:

I suppose the simulations use 12 second block times and historical prices. Also am wondering what's the assumed oracle latency / deviation parameters as it looks like external oracle is needed for their approach. If the parameters are realistic this seems great.

Initial reaction on the "Eliminating impermanent loss" paper by @newmichwill. We know its possible to get rid of IL in a continuous-time, continuous price model. But real-world AMM's always have a single-trade IL. The surprise is that their method works well-enough in sims.
