Imo: The American propaganda of fierce noble kurdish warriors was too effective. You've seen it in movies, TV and video games. The fact it was the USAF/Specops that did 98% of the work. Unfortunately the Kurds believed it too. That's why they make ridiculous demands..

1) I visited Bahluliyah yesterday. The town was busier than I've seen with people of all ages commuting, walking around and socializing. I spoke with a business owner who said the situation has improved even more since my last visit, something I've seen across Alawi areas...

I returned to Latakias Bahluliyah in December in search of a simple answer: How did local officials build so much trust in this Alawi area? The area provides useful insights into civil peace in Syria while showing a side of the coast that is often ignored https://t.co/F3fr9lKTIT

And just like that they go back on the agreements they made as usual. It isn't matter of if,but rather when the fighting starts again

The pro kurdish independence PKK types are a cult, pure and simple. Westerners refuse to see that they are supporting a communist DPRK stalinist style militia because "exotic girls with guns" One can agree or disagree with the KNC on what kurdish rights are, but they are sensible

All the men - former FSA, SNA, HTS, Red Bands, etc - that I have spoken to over the past year of reporting from many different provinces here in #Syria have instead said they are sick of fighting. They want peace: to study or get married, rebuild, have homes and safety. This

Another day, another russian crime against humanity. Literally no reason to do that other than pure evil. It's not collateral damage, they are deliberately targeting civilians. That we have to act friendly towards Russia after all they did in Syria and Ukraine makes me nauseous.

3 toddlers. And their wounded warrior father. All killed. And their pregnant mother wounded. This is what Putin is doing. And this is why all Americans must stand with Ukraine and against Russia. Especially now. It’s never been more clear. More on this and the brave

Excellent reporting from Qamishli and Hasakah after the recent change. For many Kurdish fighters, it feels like betrayal; for many civilians, like a gamble that may bring stability. @PalomaDinechin reports from the ground for @newlinesmag. https://t.co/59lmTgUdkn

The amount of bad faith arguments and outright lies coming from pro SDF Kurds and their supporters almost dwarfs those from Alawite Assadists and their supporters.

If an Arab Sunni claimed he is not Al Qaeda but still raised the picture of Bin Laden everywhere you would call him Al Qaeda. When a Kurd claims he is not part of the PKK but still raised the picture of Ocalan everywhere he is apparently still not PKK according to westerners.
