I had a blast at @NASAJPL talking about @MAVEN2Mars and space weather! We are almost at the peak of the solar cycle so the observing solar flares and storms now will help future #astronauts one day at #Mars🌪️🚀.
Every 11 years, the Sun's activity peaks 📈. That peak – known as solar maximum – is happening soon, and two of @NASA's Martian spacecraft will use it as an opportunity to study how solar storms and radiation could affect future astronauts on the Red Planet.

In Dec '22, @NASA’s MAVEN mission saw the unexpected disappearance of the solar wind, a stream of charged particles constantly emanating off the Sun. This was caused by a type of solar event that was so powerful, it created a void in its wake. Learn more:
