There is no such thing as “the partition” in 1947. It was independence. India’s elite (including faux secularists that enable & sustain majoritarianism) invented this word to diminish Pakistan (& Bangladesh). ps. partition in South Asia took place in December 1971. 🇵🇰🇧🇩.
