2 years ago we set out to transform the police response to rape. The first step was to explain the complexity behind the headlines. We couldn’t do that without the immense courage of the women who shared their stories. Thank you. It will not be in vain. #c4rape.

This is the future, starting in @ASPolice, our #projectbluestone is expanding nationwide under the banner of Operation Soteria. It’s a unique collaboration between academics, police officers and prosecutors. I believe it has the power to transform policing and influence others.

We need to make sure we are placing more than equal focus on the perpetrators, calling out behaviour that should be unacceptable and is not tolerated by the vast majority. Would this embolden victims and bystanders, knowing they stand with the latter?. #WeCops.

Taking an open & honest look at the way we work has enabled us to make much needed improvements in @ASPolice. We’re already seeing the benefits of transformative change but there’s more to do as #OpSoteriaBluestone gets rolled out to more police forces.
Grateful for the pioneering work on rape & sexual offence investigations being undertaken @ASPolice. By listening to victims, making investigations less intrusive, we'll make sure the brave people who come forward aren't let down & rapists are put behind bars, where they belong.

Congratulations to PC Pete Flinn and PD Belle who were crowned National Police Dog Champions 2023 in Nottingham today. They competed over 4 days of testing against the best police dogs in the UK and came out top. This is an outstanding achievement!!! So proud of you both.

Just before Christmas I met with CC @aspsarah_crew @ASPolice it was great to meet someone so passionate about improving the process, support and policing response to GBV. I’m looking forward to sharing my experience and helping improve the process for the next rape survivor.

From 7th - 13th Jan, 16 members of @ASPolice were assaulted or abused whilst on duty. Some received multiple injuries which included: Spat at – 1, Bitten – 1, Kicked – 4, Headbutted – 3, Punched– 2, Pushed/Struck – 6 #unacceptable.
