This! Burnout is a public health problem! Research shows self-care helps decrease burnout, but your organization should also address it especially if it’s connected to your work. I recently published my article discussing burnout in the helping field! https://t.co/sMHQlAUeEE
Mental health hack: "Burnout" doesn't change by taking time off. That just allows for resiliency to come back & endure more. The "cure" for burnout is making real changes that restructure the experience you're having so you're not in a cycle of filling your tank & running it dry.

This! I’m currently searching for roles in research, utilization reviews, compliance/ethics ❤️
Any mental health therapists on here that have transitioned out of clinical careers to corporate? I’d love to know what steps were taken to pivot because I’m ready to transition to non-clinical careers within mental health.

My Spec saw my LinkedIn post about wanting to pivot in my career and called me asap to connect me with Sorors in my new city to assist me. I can’t speak for others, but I’m so glad to be a part of Delta 🔺❤️ True sisterhood

A lot of ppl feel like divorce is failure is bc yall (women hating on my girl) are too fuckin male-centered and buy into patriarchy, knowingly and unknowingly. I know a lady who has been married a lot of times. One thing I’ve learned from her is when it’s time to go, GO!

The moral of the story is that yall are way too comfortable speaking on other people’s decisions/lives…..oh and yall do not understand what therapists do on a daily basis, so just stop talking.

We love you sis and you do amazing work! ❤️
And to my therapists village THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for shielding me and tearing these folks ass up. There is no way think pieces are being made because I shared I was getting a divorce. Being a marriage counselor doesn’t absolve me from having marital issues.

we don’t give advice. our lived experiences have NOTHING to do w/our clients’ experiences. our job is to take on their reality, not mold them to fit into ours.
People who are not married or never been married is giving advice? I don’t understand. Shouldn’t advice come from lived experiences?

@RaeRenee731 The public doesn’t deserve us! Like the way the public treats black therapists specifically really needs to be studied

We don’t promise to ‘never divorce.’ We advocate for relationships that are safe, respectful, etc. When that’s no longer possible divorce can be the healthiest choice.

Assuming a marriage counselor shouldn’t divorce reinforces stigma. Our role is to promote healthy relationships, and sometimes that means modeling the courage to leave one that isn’t.
I understand marriages have challenges but being a marriage counselor filing for divorce seems odd. Like, the advice you’re giving isn’t being applied
