Clarity in naming matters. Patients must not be allowed to believe they are being treated by a doctor when they are not. Doctors must always lead the team. This is about making sure patients get the care they need when they need it. Tales of missed opportunities abound
WMA urges clearer definitions for non-physician roles to protect patient safety, following concerns raised by the British Medical Association. Read the full press release: https://t.co/2NqFTHOWGq

This problem will continue to recur so long as government regulates fees without providing for regular increases proportional to inflation
Stagnant consultation fees & overregulation jeopardize the vital role of GPs in healthcare. Government action is needed to support GPs & ensure a sustainable healthcare ecosystem. Let's preserve their invaluable contributions! 🏥💪 #SupportOurGPs

I don’t mind elected representatives being vaccinated, because in this country they meet lots of people and don’t seem to understand the SOPs. Remember Sabah elections. I do draw the line at their wives, mistresses and offspring, though.
@Khairykj @dytiaaurinh I hope you have a clear understanding of who is actually in the front line. The cabinet certainly isn't and shouldn't be in phase 1. But I am not hopeful

The people see that the ministers break the laws with impunity. They are angry. The government’s answer? Make ministers obey the law? No! Change the law for ministers! Brilliant!

If the government forces private hospitals and doctors to do things without consulting, Malaysia will soon have a collapse of the private healthcare sector. We want to help, but we also want to be heard
“The government should stop playing 'big brother' after not being able to contain the pandemic and should instead start listening to feedback from the ground and regard private healthcare as its key partner.”

Sorting all this out takes time. With due respect, MOH officials have little idea of the constraints the private sector operates under. Start talking now, so we can start jabbing as soon as the vaccines arrive.

Private hospitals will want to make sure operations continue smoothly- so they will vaccinate in batches, in case of unforeseen adverse effects. Each hospital will have its own preferences. The same goes for private clinics.

It is imperative that we start laying out in detail how distribution will be done immediately. For instance, a private hospital may have a thousand frontliners, but it’s unlikely they will want to vaccinate them all at once.

The government has pledged to vaccinate all 18+ year olds. We understand front-liners will be first, and that this includes private sector workers as well. Data is being collected.

Good news! This is the first step. Now we must concentrate on distribution once supplies arrive. @Abraham60373150 @drarasu71 @DrAmarMOH @drmornias @DGHisham
I was just informed by @DGHisham that NPRA has given conditional registration for the Pfizer vaccine. We are still waiting for a few additional info from Pfizer but this means it can be used in Malaysia. Congratulations NPRA on the quick registration.

Public health officials try to close private clinics for two weeks if one patient who visited them later tests positive. Factories with many positive cases remain open, and only contacts are tested - not the whole workforce. Double standards?

As someone who was briefed when the contract system was proposed, @malaysianmedic1 was assured that at the end of the contract, ALL the doctors would be absorbed into service. What happened, @KKMPutrajaya @DrAdhamBaba @DGHisham ?
Dear @KKMPutrajaya please tell us how these 3% were chosen? What was the criteria? We are failing our healthcare workers (doctors and pharmacists) by not offering permanent posts.

Despicable behaviour, which I hope receives exemplary punishment. We need to ensure this sort of behaviour doesn’t spread. Dr. Berms will recover physically, but mental anguish and uncertainty will last longer #NotATarget
Violence must stop! Doctors, nurses, and other caregivers are #NotATarget All the best for a fast recovery to Dr Dinesh Verma.

Be open, especially now when trust is crucial. Surely the public interest outweighs any need for secrecy
Why is it so difficult to publish and be transparent ? 🧐 Public and doctors need to be assured of the quality in fighting COVID19. @DrAdhamBaba @KKMPutrajaya
