Last week I organized India's largest #DesignSystemMeetup under @designersunion_ . Bringing the Design System Meetup 2024 to life has been a journey filled with anticipation, countless details, and, above all, an amazing sense of purpose.

I remember taking Dribbble pro and shifting my whole portfolio on Dribbble. I used to tell my students about Gleb and his work on Dribbble and how they can leverage Dribbble for their work portfolio. Today, it's Framer everywhere!.

7/.At this point, paying taxes feels like subscribing to a system where nothing works for you. No returns, no transparency, no choice to opt out. Just endless deductions while politicians enjoy the benefits. We're funding a show we're not even allowed to watch.

6/.And now there’s talk of charging fees on UPI transactions too. First they push us toward digital payments, now they want to monetize that shift. Feels less like progress and more like an ever-expanding menu of charges we never agreed to.

5/.Ironically, it’s the middle class that bears the brunt of the taxation system. No subsidies, no freebies, no real safety net. We pay the most, complain the least, and still get ignored when it comes to benefits. Reward for responsibility, apparently.

4/.Government-provided education and healthcare are barely functional. Schools lack teachers, hospitals lack equipment. Most people have no choice but to go private—and pay again. So what does the government actually do with the tax money?.

3/.And roads? Most new ones are built under public-private partnerships, which means they're funded through investments, tolls, and private players—not purely with taxpayers' money. Yet we still pay taxes and tolls. Is this double billing or just bad governance?.

2/.Even basic items like toffees and milk are slapped with GST. It’s hard to find a single daily necessity that isn’t taxed in some form. We're not just taxed on income—we're taxed every time we breathe near a product or service. Where is all this money going?.

If we’re already paying service fees for literally everything—water, garbage, electricity, house, land, fuel, tolls, car insurance, maintenance—what exactly are we paying such high taxes for? Feels like every aspect of life is already individually monetized. 1/.
