For the 6,000+ #AWS service API endpoints, https://t.co/7ZugfX6hbQ shows which endpoints support #IPv6 by default, and which require additional client configuration. Important when considering an IPv6-only VPC. New: Daily updates and a list of recent changes.

If WorkSpaces can support IPv6, you can do it too! https://t.co/DPdAzT8Rfb

Welp. I guess I should have waited <= 22 more hours. The t4g free trial goes on! 🥳
The @awscloud t4g.small free trial has been offered since September 2020 and was extended many times. Will it come to an end this year?

Meat and potatoes core infrastructure.
Really enjoyed Matt’s keynote at #AWSreInvent today. So much innovation happening in @awscloud, and you could see it with the array of launches he unveiled. So many parts of the keynote worth watching, but will point to a few: 1/ Excited about the availability of Trainium3.

They also have a second ENI into some other VPC, maybe that’s why they are so shy. It does have an IPv6 address though :)

Apparently EC2 instances have resource policies now. I‘m trying to look under the hood of those Lambda EC2 instance running in *my* account, but they don’t like that. They don’t do SSM. They refuse to give logs or a screenshot or serial console. There’s also an additional SG

The re:Invent event catalog shows exactly two matches for „IPv6“ in 3,000+ sessions. (NET208 Networking Fundamentals, listed twice)

NEW: Lambda FINALLY adds multiconcurrency support with Lambda Managed Instances! Sandboxes process multiple concurrent requests when deployed into EC2 clusters managed by AWS. You pick the instances, and you can set the max concurrency per sandbox. MEANING: No more cold

@sebsto does this mean all ALB traffic today is *not* hardware-encrypted? I'd think that plain HTTP between an ALB and its targets is a very common configuration. 🤔

VPC Encryption Controls finally answer my questions from 2022. It's weird though: Apparently, ALB/NLB/Fargate/EKS are *not* using hardware-level encryption yet – unless you start monitoring encryption. No pricing yet – that comes later.

AWS announces VPC encryption controls, a new capability that helps organizations audit and enforce encryption in transit for all traffic within and across VPCs in a Region, simplifying compliance...
Googled harder, found this 2020 whitepaper with a 2022 copyright: https://t.co/9jSa2xGGnU So it seems that within a VPC, almost-guaranteed - Authenticity - Integrity (violation "highly improbable") But Confidentiality "maybe" (encryption just for some services, like EC2)?

I've rebuilt https://t.co/7ZugfX6P1o – it still has all the data on public AWS API endpoints, now a bit faster and slightly less ugly. I will add more content over time, making it an information hub for getting started with IPv6 on AWS.
