ā€œWorkaholics, and those around them, may be reliving patterns from their past, or using work as a way to ease—or ignore—emotional issues and trauma.ā€-@clarkmalissa @anxymag #mentalhealth #worklifebalance https://t.co/004kSIsBsI

The definition of workaholism has expanded over the years, but understanding why you’re overworking can help you unlock ways to deal with it.

ā€œMy hopeful prediction is that mental wellness will become an integrated aspect of our everyday lives. Getting counseling and support will be a shameless act, as commonplace as going to the dentist.ā€ - @redindhi

Late to the group cry for @anxymag—a project that was early to tackle many subjects that are moving to the center of cultural discussion, mental health especially. Last year, we created a masculinity issue and now @GQMagazine is doing the same. You were ahead of your time, Anxy.

Weeks before publishing @anxymag farewell letter, I spoke with Kenzie Haynes from @accpl_ about the decision, the changes, and the hardship. It's probably the most raw, because it was happening in real time. Give it a listen— It's Worth Doing Right:

It might’ve been a side hustle but the impact was bigger than any full time gig I’ve had. We started conversations that have been in the closet for years. We smashed stigmas around mental health. We made it okay to not be okay. But mostly, we made people feel a lot of things.

I’m sad that we had to put such an important piece of journalism to rest but I’m so happy @anxymag lived as long as it did.
