I have begun to feel extremely triggered at the sound of television news folks, especially in times of crisis. As a former news broadcaster it pains me to say this but I have begun to detest the sound of news TV—even the slightly more sane ones, even the digital ones, even when.

I have given it some thought. This isn’t a call to a diff style (proper, stiff). There is something far more fundamental, inherently wrong and incompatible with all that’s happening in this world and how TV news communicates it. 6/6 <end>.

I am reasonably confident that this is not a ‘me’ problem. I would honestly want to hear how people truly feel—beyond the regular dose of TV bashing. 5/n.

And this is from the minuscule amount of news TV I watch often consumed in very small doses as reels and snippets. 4/n.

There is a physiological aspect to hearing the ‘TV voice’ (as it’s often referred to)—it gives me a pittish feeling in my stomach especially if the situation is of imp, needs calm & thought. 3/n.

The adjectives & emotions I can think of to best describe how I feel is: triggered, consuming something that has the smug sheen of artificial competence, something plastic, empty, spoon fed metaphors, absent, unattractive. 2/n.

President Trump, JD Vance, Marco Rubio have all announced an India Pak ceasefire, that is full, immediate, agreed to by both sides, and reached after “common sense” and “great intelligence”. I am not sure how to interpret this yet. And announced minutes before the official India.
