Free speech is crucial because without it, the chance of getting the wrong answer on any given question is astronomically high.

The Air Canada situation should be evidence enough that the Liberals are anti-working class.

At Mass today, the deacon said that they have a record number of people this year, many of them young, who intend to enter the RCIA program for new Catholics. This tracks with many reports across Western countries that more people are gravitating towards a more spiritual life.

Thoughts on Air Canada:. • The union has a right to strike. For the gov't to take that away from them is hot garbage. The Liberals are clearly anti-working class. Not cool. • Flight attendants do not earn money while not in the air, e.g. helping passengers onto the plane--this.

A 'no regrets' situation might be taking moderate amounts of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is correlated with good immune health, but that might just because health-conscious people consume vitamins, or might be that D is legit good for you. Since Vitamin D is cheap and easy to take with.

Getting the causation arrow correct is super important. Seeing rich guy driving a Ferrari doesn't mean that buying a Ferrari makes you rich. If you cannot determine the causation arrow direction, best to not act as if you do know, unless you have a 'no regrets' situation.

It shouldn't matter to your vote whether you personally like or dislike a politician. That is child-level thinking. Voting should solely be based on whether that person can improve your life, your family's life, your community's well-being, and your nation's flourishing.

Income must be greater than expenses for prosperity. Else, pain. That goes at the individual and national level. A country in deficit can employ tactics to delay the pain, but cannot avoid the pain forever. All the economist egg heads can give complex explanations to avoid and.

Canadians, please listen to Dan McTeague. Our economic problems stem from very bad ideas.

Fermi approximations are one of my favorite physics concepts. It's a quick back of the envelope, order of magnitude estimate with very limited info. It is a good way to test if a complex system output is roughly aligned to what you intuit it should be. Named after the physicist.

The first rule of negotiation is "attack the problem, not the person". It's also a good way to live in harmony with others while still standing up for yourself. It's like the Christian maxim, "love the sinner, hate the sin".

It's just one mass hysteria after another. A good test to see if you are surrounded by a mass hysteria is if you are afraid to even question the subject of the hysteria. Hysterias can last for months, years, varying durations. Be on guard.

Everything is an inverted U. Too much is bad. Too little is bad. Very often, I see arguments that say (or imply) you can't get enough of A, or you can't limit B too much. This is a recipe for overreach. Remember the inverted U!.

If your reaction to some bit of news, or some emotion you are feeling, is to clamp down on the entire citizenry with some blanket repressive action in the name of "safety" or some other "greater good", there's a need for some sober self-analysis.
