6 month tenor CRISIL "A" rated bond is giving 11% annualised returns. The yields for bonds (fixed income credit) is really very lucrative when compared to volatility that we are seeing in equity markets.

Here’s what we think will work now,. - Sell Gold (Might not be able to generate fixed income returns in 2025 from here on). - Sell US Stocks (Book Profits). - Buy India Equity (Large Caps). - Buy Fixed Income (Credit).

For example, anyone earning upto 12 lakhs (including interest income) will now have to pay zero tax on FD and bond interest income. With “A” rating category bonds giving 11% returns and above, many investors would end up with double digit post tax returns in them. (2/2).

One of the most underappreciated things about the budget has been that how fixed income (FDs, bonds, debt MF) has become very lucrative on a post-tax basis for majority of the investors. (1/2).

How will debt MFs be taxed post April 2025? . Bought before April 2023? 12.5% LTCG . After April 2023 - slab rate, regardless of holding period. Could work out better since slab rates got cut & the rebate applies < 12 lakhs. Story by @sashindnj .

Our NBFC Wint Capital did its first listed issuance this month. NCD was issued under new SEBI regulations which allow retail investors to invest in bonds at ticket size as low as ₹10,000!.September was also special because our NBFC crossed cumulative disbursements of 250 Cr🚀.

Sachetization of Bond Market is here :). So far 99% of the bonds had a minimum ticket size of 1 Lakh. This made this asset class inaccessible for most of the investors. In today’s board meeting, SEBI has approved to reduce the ticket size to only 10,000/-

The benefit for the bank is that it gets liquidity(which is critical considering deposit crunch in the system). It also provides capital relief(since bank need not provide complete capital for the portfolio being sold down) which will increase the capital aqequacy ratio.

Securitisation is a structure under which a bank/NBFC sells a portion of its portfolio to investors and receives money in return. This is done by issuing rated securities which are backed by the portfolio being sold.

This is perhaps the biggest reform for the bond market and marks a significant milestone in mainstreaming bond investments. Really excited for what lies ahead and how this will shape up the industry. Onwards and upwards. 🚀.SEBI link:.
