Yes… bc it’s actually a great—and useful story. I came away having learned something I’ll repeatedly refer back to. And out in DC last night, I overheard a group of women eagerly discussing the article. AND at The Post, we can do this AND top notch politics, etc, coverage.

Incredible musical moment happening @kencen with @BobWeir and @NatSymphonyDC. Ushers gave up trying to stop the dancing in the aisles.

Encourage all my reporter friends to read Will’s homelessness reporting guide once it’s complete. I certainly will be.

Lots of complex stuff to unpack here aside from the slew of factual errors (PIT count is done annually, addiction is not the primary cause of homelessness, ppl aren’t allowed to camp wherever they want, ppl aren’t incentivized to be homeless). 1/2

I haven’t gone public with it yet—But I’ve been working on a guide for reporting on homelessness to help journalists avoid some of these common pitfalls. In the meantime, if you’re new to reporting on homelessness and want to talk, feel free to reach out. 2/2
