So honored to receive this award from @FNDNforSMFM @MySMFM to continue our work on fetal growth restriction and placental malaria! Couldnโt have been possible without the support of my wonderful mentor @gaw_lab, our team at #ucsf & @IDRC_Uganda & support from @UCSF_ObGynRS
Congrats to Dr. Anju Ranjit, an MFM fellow at @UCSF_ObgynRS. @anjuranjit is the 2022 Seed Funding for Investigator-Initiated Research Project recipient for her project โFetal vascular dynamics in placental malaria in Uganda.โ #queenanfellowships #fndnforsmfm #globalhealth

Institutions need to do better to support URM female surgeons in academia - mentorship, representation in leadership critical for retention
In this cohort analysis including 31,045 faculty, female surgeons who are also underrepresented in medicine were the least likely to be promoted and the most likely to leave academia. https://t.co/LE9vX3jOSD

The disparity between maternal deaths/care in LMIC and rest of the world remains huge. Interventions that we know save lives need to reach the most vulnerable. A mother has the same value regardless of her location and all mothers deserve the best care.
Across the world, approximately 800 women die in childbirth every day. One mother every two minutes. But new breakthroughs could save 1,000 mothers and babies each day. Learn more in our 2023 Goalkeepers Report: https://t.co/JY9P29CAdZ
