LHS grad, and K-State freshman, Anna Dixon saw her dreams become a reality earlier this week as she was one of 12 players named to the U20 Junior National Team and will represent Team USA in Mexico as she tries for a medal.

What a day for Louisburg sophomore Alyse Moore as she earned a regional title in the javelin with a throw of 129-11. Moore’s throw was a new personal record of almost 25 feet. She is now going two state in two sports. Congrats Alyse!
Louisburg head boys and girls soccer coach Kyle Conley informed his players and their parents earlier this month of his plans to step down after 7 years and take the job at Blue Valley West. Conley has led the Wildcats to a combined 6 state final fours.

Louisburg head football coach Drew Harding was named the Kansas City Chiefs Coach of the Week today following his team's 35-20 win over Paola on Friday. Gary Spani, a member of the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame, presented Harding with the award. Congrats Coach Harding!
Louisburg grad Garrett Griffin put the gear back on with the New Orleans Saints during the first day of padded practice Monday. Griffin is looking to make the roster after missing last season with an injury.

It was special day at LHS as senior Calvin Dillon made his decision official. Dillon signed his letter of intent to play golf at the University of Central Missouri. He is a 3-time state medalist for the Wildcats. Congrats Calvin and best of luck at Central Missouri!
Carlee Gassman made it all official today during a signing ceremony with her family. She has signed to run track at Northern Iowa. Gassman is a 5-time state medalist with the Wildcats and holds the school record in the 300-meter hurdles and as a member of the 4x100 relay.
LHS athletic trainer Damon Dennis has done a lot in his more than 25 years of service to the district and he was recognized for his efforts last week when he was honored with the Support Personnel of the Year Award by the KWCA. Congrats

The Louisburg boys are onto their first state championship game in school history as the Wildcats hold on to down Augusta, 58-55. Wildcats will meet Bishop Miege at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Congrats guys! What a win!
Louisburg boys basketball has found its new leader. Earlier this month, the USD 416 BOE approved the hire of new head coach Ben Doll. After 24 years as an assistant at winning programs, Doll is excited to lead the Wildcats this coming season.

For the first time in 47 years, the Louisburg girls basketball team is headed to state after a 51-27 win over Fort Scott this afternoon. The Lady Cats will travel Labette County for a 6 p.m. tip Tuesday in the state quarterfinals. Congrats ladies!

Alyse Moore is going to be a busy person. After competing with the LHS softball team at state, Moore will throw the javelin at the state meet Saturday. Moore is the first athlete in recent LHS history to compete at state in two sports in same season.
Louisburg High School students Wyatt Axmann and Ben Ratliff-Becher helped their Kansas City-MAVS volleyball team to a national championship earlier this month in Dallas as the team finished with a 10-1 record in the tournament. Congrats guys!
Louisburg girls soccer racks up all-state honors - Mackenzie Scholtz Co-Player of the Year, Carson Buffington named Goalkeeper of the Year and Kyle Conley named Coach of the Year. Several other Wildcats also named to all-state team. Congrats to everyone!

Louisburg senior Calvin Dillon won the 2020 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship in Warrensburg after he shot a 5-under par and won by 6 strokes in the 2-day tournament. Congrats Calvin!
One of the biggest Louisburg fans out there, Lou Davis, passed away this morning. Lou was the team bus driver for a lot of the LHS programs and loved watching the Wildcats. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Please support them during this tough time.

It was a tough way for his season to come to an end. Alec Younggren lost a 9-5 decision to Cayden Winter and finished second. He ended with a 37-1 record at 220 pounds. Congrats on a great season Alec! It was a memorable one!
Junior Trinity Moore and freshmen Reese Johnson earned state medals today at cross country. Moore finished fourth overall and Johnson was sixth. The Lady Cats took fifth overall as a team. Great job girls!

STATE BOUND: The Louisburg golf team is headed to state as Calvin Dillon, Drake Varns, Garrett Rolofson, Ryan Haight, Noah Hill and Colin Cook took third at regionals. Dillon won the individual title with a 73 and Varns medaled 10th with an 87. Congrats guys!

There’s a new school record for the girls 4x100 meter relay. Kendall Crossley, Mackenzie Rooney, Emma Lohse and Suzanna Dansel won the event today at Wellsville in a new time of 50.14. They broke the old mark of 50.59 set in 2019. Congrats ladies!
