Hope to see more of these types of simple descriptive analyses from recent outbreaks with high CFR in Africa so we can make progress towards the @SecGTFCC End Cholera Roadmap.

A few things we learned (in this specific endemic setting): - It is mostly older folks dying of cholera - Contrary to my prior, deaths do not seem concentrated at the start of epidemics when systems are not yet prepared - Vaccine provides protection against cholera-mortality

These have been a rough past few years in terms of #cholera outbreaks including some with really high mortality in Africa. There is a real need to better understand who and why people are dying of this disease we know how to treat.
