Shout out to Dapto High’s Principal @andrew_fitz2811, for your leadership and to your staff and students for the generous hospitality. There were great ideas and insights shared, and it was great to meet your newest teacher Tyla too. May you continue to inspire, explore, create!

Fantastic to visit @DaptoHigh on Friday and hear about their approaches to stage 6 - thoughtful and passionate about learning and pathways for all students. We met Nixy the support dog and had a fab lunch from the vet hospitality class! Thanks for your time @andrew_fitz2811

Why on earth do any of these schools receive one cent of public money? Especially while every public school in Australia (bar a few in ACT) is funded below the MINIMUM school resource standard?
smh.com.au
Twenty private schools have received more than $340 million in donations in recent years as schools ramp up fundraising drives amid a building boom.

I’m well aware of the low life that inhabit the National Party but it is beyond me to comprehend how decent people like Darren Chester and Mark Coultan could endorse their leaderships opposition to the Voice when they have no idea of the final shape of the Referendum question.

My response to the decision of the Nationals to oppose the Voice to Parliament. The Voice is not about politicians. It is an invitation to the Australian people. I have great confidence in the Australian people to assess the Voice on its own merits.

🤓 coal provided 48.2% of energy in the national electricity market on friday 28 october — quite likely the first day coal power provided less than 50% of energy in the NEM. …and likely the first time it's been this low in the last century in australia.

Agree; and let’s not forget the tax deductible contributions to ‘Building Funds’ that partially enable. The amount of commonwealth tax foregone has never been made public; $$$. Any one able to guestimate?

Stop with the complaints that schools are getting more money but results haven’t improved! Look at where the money is going - since 2011 18% increase for public schools, 34% for Catholic schools and 47% for independent schools’ Fix THAT or say no more

Will someone stand up; eat some humble pie, then start again with some more innovative strategies? Qualifying quality SLSOs and nurturing recent HSC graduates with a passion for teaching as a starting point.
