"These guys wanna spend over a billion - that's with a 'B' - of your hard-earned tax $ to build a new Science Centre, when donors offered to fix the old one for free? It's like they think $ grows on trees!!!" 🤨 - Doug Ford, if Lib/NDP did this. #onpoli https://t.co/7y2chOh1at

Lies. I was working with a group of engineers on a roof project at the time. They confirmed this guy is inaccurate.

Challenging Premier Ford as he insists the roof of the original Science Centre building was unsafe & at risk of collapsing. Hundreds of Ontario schools have the same roof panels that led the government to abruptly close the facility almost 2 years ago.

Doug Ford created this post-secondary crisis - and his new funding model won’t fix it. More program cuts at Algonquin will impact thousands of students. When programs are cut and faculty are pushed out, we are hollowing out Ontario’s future. #onpoli https://t.co/jEHEJd1ZJe

Algonquin College is again planning to cut 30 more programs pending approval by its board of governors next week. It had postponed the decision on the cuts after provincial funding changes.

The Toronto General Hospital (where anyone in the vicinity of my office, rich or poor, would be taken and treated at no charge, right now, if I were to fall seriously ill) - is the 2nd highest-quality hospital ON THE ENTIRE PLANET. Single tier, single payor, FOREVER.

This pretty picture is of the province’s smaller Science Centre near their private spa at Ontario Place. The price tag is $1.4 billion. The existing building only requires about $350 mil over 20 years (and about $30 mil for priority repairs). All this based on the AG report.

🚨BREAKING🚨 We just received an FOI proving that the Ford government spent nearly $2 million on his Ontario Place ads over 4 months.  This comes after Ford refused to disclose the amount to Global News last November. It’s a callous use of taxpayer dollars for a

Wrong. I cant believe Ontarians have let Ford rob a generation of jobs, accessible camps, the nature, learning and fun of this amazing space. He is dead wrong.

Premier Doug Ford says the current Science Centre - at Don Mills and Eglinton in Thorncliffe - is a "terrible location." Ford says the building was "decrepit" Ford says if they renovated the existing structure you would still have a "dumpy building." #onpoli

The BBC omitted “free Palestine” from their broadcast of the BAFTAs, which is on a 2 hour delay, but not the part where two Black men were called a racial slur while on stage.

New: the Minister of Colleges & Universities appears to distance himself from Doug Ford’s comments suggesting students are using OSAP to buy “fancy watches & cologne.” He tells me cuts to government grants are about “system pressures & sustainability.” Full story to come.

I don’t remember “basket-weaving” being among the dozens of programs Ford cut. I’m not convinced he’s ever set foot in one of Ontario’s colleges. #ONPoli https://t.co/6tq3rOSPqj

My 11 year old had around 15 students in class yesterday (due to bus cancelations). He told me he had a great day learning and engaging. Said it was way better than the normal full class. The data supports his experience.

Today, we launched our campaign to Save OSAP.   Doug Ford is gutting OSAP grants and paving the way for tuition hikes, forcing students to choose between an education or a lifetime debt sentence.   At a time when everything costs more and youth unemployment is at an all-time

Doug Ford says he had no choice but to change OSAP - saddling students with more debt. But he has a choice to spend $100B on a 401 tunnel and hand out millions through the Skills Development Fund. Ontario’s Conservatives have lost touch with reality. We deserve better. #onpoli

New today: Premier Ford suggests some students are taking advantage of OSAP, buying “fancy watches & cologne,” and taking “basket-weaving” courses that won’t lead to jobs, as he faces backlash for capping grants at 25%. He contends bigger loans will hold students accountable.

A public inquiry is actually a good idea. With 118 Vice Presidents at Metrolinx, we know an internal review on wasted tax dollars and inefficiencies would go no where.
