Very millennial/genz of me but I love using apps to do things so I can cut out the human interaction aspect. Antisocial I know, but sometimes I just want to do be a hermit yknow I’ve come to realize that in pk this concept has failed spectacularly

association with Rina, for a good five years or more I had boycotted these restaurants for polluting the waterways of the MHNP. @rina has been relentlessly pursued and subject to so much anguish just for protecting WHAT BELONGS TO ALL OF US-the biome of the MHNP.

Wildlife. The leopard trail flourished and so many leopards came back as a result of her hard work. The people at IWMB constantly cleared the forest of invasive species of lantana etc. plastics were banned in MHNP. Rules were enforced for the first time.

She also introduced me to the iconic Helga, but that’s another story. But my true admiration for Rina came about when she was appointed the chair of the IWMB. As an animal lover she became my hero for setting up Pakistans first true sanctuary for rescued dancing bears and other

Of the climate marches, on our own time, with no ngo or donor funding, along with other wonderful activists all over Pakistan. Rina was an untiring force of nature and did most of the logistics of the event and worked late into the night, for no personal gain whatsoever.

I got to know her better over the years as we ran into each other at various conferences inside and outside Pakistan. Her articles covering COP are evidence of her diligence and grasp over the subject. In 2019 we really got to know each other as we organized the Islamabad chapter

The government has not managed to curb the issue and resorts to cruelty and violence as do most citizens. A group of dedicated young people in d12 noticed the issue. They saw dogs being beaten, poisoned and tortured by the government and by locals. The problem didn’t seem to end
