Where is Congress? Trump defied a federal judge and deported people without due process after already defying Congress in more ways than I can list here. Does Congress not care about losing their power and purpose?

Anyone who tells you the government is eliminating waste: no. they're eliminating programs that rich people aren't making money off of so rich people can make more money.
This is a program that takes federal dollars and uses them to purchase fresh food directly from North Carolina farmers to offer to food bank customers. The Trump-Musk White House decided they were unnecessary.

The US is currently a country that targets, threatens, detains, and deports people for political speech. Where are the congresspeople who've spent years expounding on the importance of free speech?

If the dean of one of the country’s top journalism schools is advising students to self-censor because “nobody can protect you,” then we have already passed a major milestone on the road to authoritarianism. https://t.co/WkxMhki4SL

nothing is working as well as it was 2 months ago (airlines, the economy, the government). republicans who used to want the govt out of things are singing absolute power over to a president who wants to control everything (private law firms, private universities). Terrifying.

BREAKING: Hundreds of Jews and allies have taken over Trump Tower chanting “We want justice, you say how. Bring Mahmoud home now!” and “Fight Nazis, not students.” The civil disobedience is spawned by the ICE arrest of Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil.

Here it is: the Republican party no longer supports free speech. Imprisoning people who disagree with you is illegal, anti-American, in opposition to The Constitution, and is very much what dictators do.
We will be revoking the visas and/or green cards of Hamas supporters in America so they can be deported https://t.co/oKba2Mmi3C

white people: if you're so fragile you can't handle amplifying the history and accomplishments of Black people in the US, do some self-reflection. It's #BlackHistoryMonth2025 - time to learn about & and celebrate the history & accomplishments of Black people in America.
We've been doing Black History Month long before the feds wanted to recognize it and we will continue as usual. ❤️🖤💚

I haven't been posting here, but I have a new flash - about being young & in a new place (entirely unrelated to my current personal experience, as I'm old and in the same place!). Still, I hope you'll read it - thanks @Wigleaf 💚

Hi, All—I’m in need of $80 to get through the upcoming week. I’m off a really busy, rough week. I really just need gas and laundry and a little food money. If anyone can help, I’d be grateful. Thanks so much for reading. https://t.co/e8pbvgPLqi

Alex is at 25% of his goal right now. Let’s help him get to 50% before mid-week. Please help if you can.
This is rapidly becoming a crisis that could leave me without a place to live. I have no good reason to expect help from anyone, but if you can help, I would be thankful beyond words. https://t.co/npeTMZwigt

Thank you so much, Eric - so very kind!
Finished SAD GROWNUPS by @amy_stuber_ last night! ✨ Each story is so different, but all are unmistakably a Stuber story: she has the incredible ability to peel back the skin of the characters to show us them at their most real and most vulnerable. Can’t recommend enough! 🔥

not on this site much, but this was so nice - made my weekend - thank you @StanchionZine!
Srsly y'all, this @amy_stuber_ book. My god. Every story is mint. The sentences hum. Can I nominate the whole damn thing for a Pushcart or demonstrate in some public square for it to receive Booker Prize consideration? It's phenomenal and deserves to be read far and wide.
