Sports design wasn’t talked about ONCE in college. I was told I had too much “sports-related” content in my portfolio and to tailor my portfolio to Chicago ad agencies essentially 🙃.
I’ve noticed that the “Graphic Design Community” does not rock with us designers/artists in the sports field. Google the top graphic designers on social media. I have yet to find one of us. It’s the lack of acknowledgement for me 🤷🏾♂️.#MookJonesJr.

As of a month ago I had virtually zero experience with jersey swaps. That changed within a matter of weeks due to the NBA Draft + free agency. S/o to my coworkers for all being insanely good at jersey swaps and making it easy to learn in such a short time

Some new additions to the yearbook this season that I'm super excited about: editorial content from @sam_perley and individual pages for every entertainment entity at the Hornets. The goal was to make the yearbook more engaging this season and I think we did just that!

My observations from working during this lockdown/and really any workplace in general? The older generations want their employees to work 'harder' (which often translates to keeping employees 'busy' constantly) while the younger generations want to work smarter/more efficiently.

8 years ago today I accepted a graphic design internship with the Buccaneers that I applied to on a whim because I had no idea what I was doing after college, but wanted to work in sports. That was an incredibly pivotal moment in my life and it really just blows my mind.
