I’d like to give the @thegreatescape organisers and all of their sponsors massive thanks for a bloody brilliant three days! Ten years since our first TGE and this was one of the best. Found it by mistake in search of a 2014 Wild Beasts gig and haven’t looked back. #TGE24

Day two at The Great Escape blissfully free of politics, just packed with great music. Highlights were Johnny Hunter and Been Stellar at CST and Ducks Ltd at the Hope & Ruin #tge24

85% of the lineup are still playing and the 15% that have flounced have been easily replaced! Kudos to the organisers for another great festival. #TGE24

No sign of any boycott/protests in Brighton as we rattled through 11 bands on day 1 of #TGE24! Highlight was definitely Corella at Chalk with honourable mentions to Make Friends at The Mesmerist and Fiona-Lee at The Tempest. @Corellamusic

Are we at Glastonbury? Yes. Are we going to tweet? Maybe. Let’s see how it pans out.

Big night for AJN lost legends, Symposium. How will 20+ years have aged them. Assume BRILLIANTLY. Review to follow…

Cracking evening with @delightsband_ in Islington. Was it too soon for Three Lions? Well yes, probably, but ask me that again in a month’s time. @thegraceldn

11. You never know when your last Glastonbury is going to be. I’m always shocked at how grateful I am to be there…mostly for the 5 child-free days it affords me. Seriously - don’t bring your kids. It’s shit for everyone.

10. As a wise(ish) man once said. “Play your good ones”. The best sets were the populist ones. There’s a time for a band to be self indulgent. It’s not at a fucking festival. Contrarian sets from Primal Scream and (I know it’s part of the shtick) Noel Gallagher tested patience

8. Finally made it to Block 9. Overrated. 9. Unlike San Remo which has replaced Beat Hotel and is a late night boozers’ paradise. Slinging back overpriced tequila-based cocktails with @erolalkan’s set was just what the doctor ordered after 4 hours in the John Peel Tent

7. Never read the weather thread on @eFestivals. 300+ and nobody, not even the super talented and dedicated weather-nerds on there know what’s going to happen…particularly in May

5. I say this every year but I really need to spend more time in Avalon. The pub is excellent in all weather. 6. Always remember the good beer is in the Theatre Field and it’s worth enduring the tumbling and stilts to get it

4. Chair people. Think about whether it’s a good idea to take it somewhere rammed. Stewards - maybe do some fucking stewarding?

3. Met two entirely separate but excellent lads called Neil. Both big fans of boozing and good indie vibes. Our Neil (@scroogio) might have sacked off the festival for a family wedding but he was there in namesakes.
