Oxford/Cambridge are considered the elite universities of the UK - and i’ve spend some time at both so i’ve a little first hand experience - but how have they produced so many senior historians who are communicating such terrible takes on history week-in, week-out? Mortifying!

Pre Covid more than a third of Bangladeshi and Pakistani workers were in poverty, and a quarter of Black workers… poverty rates over half for children. but keep talking about racism as prejudice and never pick up a book 😴
middle class background and a leading fee-paying school. But some of the racial, ethnic and religious prejudice that has been a bar to individual advancement has gone. And that, in a UK of widening economic inequalities, should be a source of comfort.
